ECO Promo Gifts and Environmentally Friendly Promotional Products

There are many types of ECO Promo Gifts available today. What turns a product from being a standard promotional gift into an environmentally friendly promotional product is generally the materials it is made from and/or the manufacturing process.
Most eco promo gifts are made from some form of recycled waste. This is generally some form of reclaimed plastic of which there is an abundant supply in the form of plastics bottles, CD and CD cases and even plastic bags. What distinguishes plastic recycling is that plastic can only be re-used as a less superior product. So for example food container plastics cannot be recycled into food containers again. This makes such plastics ideal for use in environmentally friendly promotional products. Other recycled materials can include newspapers, paper, money and clothing such as denhim.
ECO promo gifts can also be made from biodegradable products such as corn starch derived plastics and even pea, potato and parsnip starches. Biodegradable simply means that at their end of life, such eco promo gifts can biologically degrade or be recycled and processed more easily into a raw material state.
ECO gifts can also be made from natural and organic materials such as unbleached cotton, jute, bamboo and wood. Often these materials are sustainably managed meaning that land is set aside to ensure that there is always a sustainable amount of the materials available from new shoots to harvested crops.
Promotional gifts powered by natural sources can also be considered to be environmentally friendly. Typical sources include solar and water powered devices. In a solar device, a small built-in photovoltaic cell captures light that is turned into electricity that can then power the promo gift. Electronic calculators are one of the earliest examples of this type of product. More recent developments have seen the technology applied to outdoor lights and signs. Water powered devices typically use water as an electrolyte through which electricity is generated. Typical examples here include digital clocks. Once the water reserve is depleted a quick fill-up with tap water is enough to replenish the fuel and start the device again.
